The area's abounding wilderness gave her a strong sensitivity and appreciation of Mother Nature's wondrous rhythms. Lumgair attended the Fine Art Academy of Chicago and Art Institute before moving to Southern California, where she has been inspired by the vastness and variety of her subjects. After more than 35 years of painting, the elusive ocean waves continue to be her challenge. Although Lumgair makes her livelihood through painting, her consuming fascination with art has not allowed her time to teach classes or enter contests. She is glad for the opportunity to share her unique observations and characterizations of the sea in this book. Lumgair's work is part of many art collections worldwide. Her gallery is located in San Diego, California.
