Editorial Reviews From School Library Journal Grade 2-4?This attractive book explains blood and the circulatory system. The text is simply written and easy to understand, using everyday analogies. The full-color illustrations, a combination of drawings and photographs, are plentiful. Diagrams of organs are superimposed on photos of dressed children. A few simple experiments are suggested: finding a pulse, listening to a friend's heart beat. A rudimentary glossary and index are included. This book covers the same territory as Leslie Jean LeMaster's Your Heart and Blood (Childrens, 1984), but is more direct and understandable, with a better relationship between text and illustration. It is also more scientific and informative than Paul Showers's A Drop of Blood (HarperCollins, 1989).?Martha Gordon, formerly at South Salem Library, NY Copyright 1996 Reed Business Information, Inc. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
